Founder President Dr. T. C. Anand Kumar Medal


Indian Society for the Study of Reproduction & Fertility (ISSRF) has instituted an award designated as “Founder President Dr. T. C. Anand Kumar Medal” to be conferred to an Indian scientist for outstanding research in the area of reproductive health. The award is conferred each year, during the annual conference of the ISSRF.


Dr. T. C. Anand Kumar is founder president of ISSRF, and a distinguished reproductive biologist of our country. His research contributions in this field have been widely acclaimed, both in India and outside. The award has been instituted in acknowledgement of his efforts to promote the discipline of reproductive biology in the country.


The award in the form of Gold Medal and Citation, will be conferred during the next annual conference of the ISSRF to be held at Jaipur from 8-10 February, 2010.

Nominations for this award are invited from distinguished scientists. Self nominations will also be considered. The research work carried out by the nominee should demonstrate novelty and/or its utility in the betterment of reproductive health. The interested scientists should provide three copies of the complete bio-data, including summary of the research work pursued and complete list of publications in the attached format. In addition, the application should also be transmitted either through e-mail at: info@issrf.org or on a disc.

Labhsetwar Award Announcement


On behalf of Drs. Anant and Lata Charitable Trust, Nagpur and Labhsetwar Foundation USA, nominations are invited by ISSRF for “Population Control and Family Award” given annually to an individual who has done outstanding contributions in this field. The award consists of Rs. 1,00,000 in cash,  a memento and a citation. The purpose of the award is to recognize and further encourage the research work of those who, in the opinion of the selection committee, have contributed towards the solution of India’s population problem. We recognize that work in various fields such as physiology, immunology, pharmacology, clinical and social work as well as demography is important in contributing towards solution of the problem. Nominee should ordinarily be under 55 years of age, engaged in his/her work and must have done distinguished work. Nomination may be made on a plain paper and should include discussion about how nominee’s work will lead to solution of the population problem. Nominations should reach the President, Indian Society for the Study of Reproduction & Fertility, at the following address before November 30, 2009. The award function will be held on 8th February, 2010 at Jaipur.

Padma Bhushan Prof. G. P. Talwar Young Scientist Award and Prof. G. P. Talwar Gold Medal for Middle Career Scientists have been instituted for outstanding contributions in the field of reproductive health. The recipient will be presented with a gold medal and a citation.

CALL FOR AWARD NOMINATIONS


The ISSRF has introduced following two awards to individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the field of reproductive health.

 

  1. The Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to a person who has made "outstanding and enduring contributions to the field of reproductive health". 
  2. The Fellowship Award will be presented to a person who has made a "significant creative contribution in the field of reproductive health". 

 

A committee comprised of the President, Secretary, Founder President, Immediate Past President of the Society and an out side eminent scientist in the field will decide the awards.
